How do I get a job abroad?
When you apply for a job through Next Job Abroad, it’s easy to get started.
No matter which job you choose to apply for, the process works through 4 simple steps. We explain them in more detail below:
1. Send us your CV
You can apply in two different ways; either by sending your CV to a specific job on the open jobs abroad page or by filling out the box on the gap year abroad page.
The jobs you apply for are based abroad, so your CV must be in English. There is no need for an unsolicited application, just a CV.
If you don’t have an English CV, or if the one you have needs a makeover, we recommend using our free CV tool. In the CV tool, you can easily create a professional CV in a few minutes.
After you have sent your CV, we will review it and you will hear from us shortly.
2. Receive a call from us
We will call you to talk about the job, learn more about you and your motivation, and answer any questions you may have. We will also discuss practical matters, such as when it would be best for you to have the job interview.
You will be walked through the application process for the job(s) you have applied for, so you are ready for the next steps.
Our conversation doesn’t need to be long, but we will, of course, set aside time for any questions you might have.
3. Job interview with the company abroad
You have now reached the actual job interview and need to make a good impression with the company abroad.
The job interview usually takes place over video call (Skype, Teams, or Zoom) and you can, of course, do it from home.
The job interview should be held from a computer with a camera and microphone.
There are typically 1-2 job interviews before you (hopefully) get hired. Sometimes there is also a test, either before or after the job interview.
4. Pack your suitcase and start your journey
Congratulations! You have now been offered a job and just need to pack your suitcase.
You will receive everything you need, such as a contract, travel documents, and practical information from the workplace.
Most places offer a relocation package, so you have company housing/hotel for 1-3 weeks. This way, you have a place to go as soon as you land in your new country.
